Be A Discoverer
Suggested level: Brownie Girl
Scouts
Description: This patch is
designed for younger girls and busy leaders, as this patch will take less
time for preparation and completion.
Patch Requirements: To
complete the patch you must do 12 requirements. Be sure to choose one from
each section.
Activities:
Outdoor Discoverer
-
Have a troop meeting
outdoors or take a hike to discover what is in your block or
neighborhood.

Make up a story or poem from
something you hear or see in the outdoors that is a discovery for you.

Take an outdoor treasure and
make something. You can use sticks, pine cones, driftwood, rocks,
leaves, etc.
Art Discoverer
-
Learn to mix colors and do
one of the following:
-
paint a picture of your friends or pet
-
cover a can or box with a painting
-
make and paint a special card or invitation
-
Create a gift using things
from nature.
-
Make a mobile or collage
using things from nature.
Land of Make Believe Discoverer
-
Play a game that you do
alone. See your Brownie Girl Scout Handbook for ideas.

Plan and give a puppet show
with the troop.

Bring dress-ups from home
and make up a skit using the costumes.
Music Discoverer
-
Play a game with music.
-
Learn a new song and sing it
with your troop.

Learn one of the following:
Home Discoverer

With your troop make a food
from scratch, like bread, butter, jam, etc.
-
List five tools or machines
in the home that used to be hand-operated and now use electricity.
-
With an adult's help, learn
how to operate something at home, such as the thermostat, dishwasher,
etc.
