Brownie Fun Maker
Suggested level: Brownie Girl Scouts
Description: This
patch will help girls explore the basics of outdoor, water and camp fun.
Patch requirements:
Girls need to complete 10 requirements, with at least one from each section.
Activities:
Outdoor Skills
-
Learn to build a fire safely
and correctly. Learn at least four (4) campfire safety rules.
Demonstrate that each girl can build and maintain a campfire following
these rules.

Learn basic knife safety.
Have a discussion on why knife safety is important.

Learn to tie two (2) basic
knots.

As a troop, plan and carry
out a cookout.

Take a short hike, and be
able to explain the importance of wearing proper clothing on a hike.

Have a troop overnight.
Water Safety
-
Participate in swimming
activities with your troop. Learn and demonstrate knowledge of at least
two rules for safety around the pool.

Participate in a boating
activity with the troop and demonstrate boating skills.
Camp Fun
-
Participate in a nature
activity.
-
Learn three (3) new songs or
help teach songs to another group.

Learn to use a kaper system
to do chores.
-
Participate in a camp crafts
session with a craft specialist.

Learn the history of Camp
Whispering Winds.
