well-trained volunteers and staff are the best around and are
dedicated to serving girls. Our goal is to ensure that every Girl
Scout in our council experiences the fun, friendship and power of
girls together, which can only come from this unique, all-girl
program!

Why a family partnership?
The council
needs your help now more than ever to support the services we provide
your daughter’s Girl Scout troop. Our services including leader training, volunteer support, and ensuring a healthy and safe
environment for all. |
|
Don’t cookie and nut sales cover all of the costs?
The cookie and nut
sale programs help defray the cost of running the Girl Scout program,
but they do not cover everything. In 2004, it cost about $275 to
support each Girl Scout registered with Girl Scouts of Santiam Council |

We already pay! Where does that money go?
The $10 membership
fee that is paid each year by Girl Scouts goes directly to Girl Scouts
of the USA, our national organization. With those funds, GSUSA
provides management support to councils, develops national program
resources, and furnishes accident insurance. Troop dues are used by
the troop for expenses such as program supplies, food, or planned
programs. Dues are always determined by the troop itself. |

directly to support girl programs, events and activities! |

good moral decisions.

Suggested levels of giving include:

Provides five leaders with the
program packet and training calendar,
which lists more than 100 council-sponsored
programs for girls and troops and free
development courses for leaders and other volunteers.

Supports ongoing enrichment courses for leaders, including disability
awareness and program enhancement.

› |
Provides financial assistance for six
girls to join Girl Scouts.
|
|
$100 |
› |
Supports six months of
one girl participating in Girl Scouting.

› |
Sends one girl to a week of summer resident camp.
