Outreach Programs > Lunch time, after-school and summer programs
Girl Scouts of Santiam Council also offers limited duration special programs during after school and summer programs. Topics vary per group and need. Previous topics include: character education, space science, child care, math & science activities, and international crafts and games.

‘Bee’ a Character - This program was designed to work as a 10 week after-school program. The goal is to promote positive character development through activities and games that foster and culture the following themes: Caring, Cooperation, Courage, Goal Setting, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Service.

International Games and Crafts - Each session focuses on one country or region (ie. Central America, Scandinavia) and includes maps of each area. Whenever possible, a few basic words from each area are also introduced. Participants create a booklet of information and activities. Activities include at least one game and craft from each area, plus other fun activities as time allows.

Childcare - This after school program is geared for middle school age students and covers basic safety issues and activities to do with children being cared for.

Flubber Academy - science activities using Flubber Academy materials. Each topic covers approximately 4 sessions (see above for topics).

The Arts - Exploring the arts! Trying different types of fine arts, especially the visual arts; painting, drawing sculpture, fabric arts, folk arts & crafts, etc.

After-school troops - Do all the different activities in Girl Scouting! Girls will explore careers, experience hands-on science, try crafts, learn new skills, develop leadership skills, and MORE!
