Girl Scout Brownie troop #18 spent an afternoon at Marion Polk Food Share on
Saturday, November 8, sorting donated food for delivery to local food banks and
social service centers. These seven-and eight-year-old girls sorted
approximately 72 boxes, that's 2500 pounds, of donated canned and boxed food.
˜Making the world a better place" is part of the Girl Scout law, and a
fundamental component of troop #18's activities. In the next few months, look
for these girls as they create a quilt for a Habitat for Humanity family, and
serve dessert to seniors at a local residence.
