Attracts
nut lovers and lets everyone know Girl Scouting is “Toadally” Awesome!
One of
the best days of the year isn’t even an official holiday. It is the
opening day of the annual Girl Scout nut sale. From Oct. 1through Nov.
13, Girl Scouts from local troops will be traveling door-to-door taking
nut orders. Nuts can also be purchased at local grocery stores and other
sites.
“Our nut
sale is an invaluable learning experience,” said Sarah Johnson, director
of program services. “This voluntary program activity helps girls
develop self confidence, self-respect, and a strong sense of community.
The Girl Scout nut sale truly creates the leaders of the future!”
All of
the money earned locally stays locally to support Girl Scouting in
Santiam Council. More than 3,500 girls in Marion, Polk, Yamhill, Lincoln
Linn, and Benton counties will participate in this event. These girls
will earn money to attend camp, conduct service projects, take trips,
support their troop, as well as train and support their leaders.
Girl Scout nut sale orders will be taken
Oct. 1 to Oct. 28. During this order taking period, we ask consumers
only place an order and not pay until delivered. Girl Scouts will make
deliveries and sell nuts at local stores between Oct. 28 and Nov. 13. |
